“What Sat Nav Should I Buy?”

Articles

"What sat nav?" is a question we are often asked here at GPS Review. Understandably so, as we do spend a lot of time examining and testing a wide variety of GPS and sat nav devices. However, the answer to the question is usually: "it depends."

It depends, because not all sat navs are equal and neither are people's requirements; Somebody that occasionally drives out of their comfort zone is going to need something different to the sales person that practically lives in their car. To best help you decide which model and brand to go for, we've come up with a number of categories: See which one best describes you and see our recommendation!

Tight Budget

If you're on a tight budget, it's best to go for a slightly older model. You won't have access to all the latest features but you will have a solid and reliable sat nav for a bargain price. If you need some of the features from some of the higher-end models but can't stretch the budget, consider a second-hand or refurbished device. You can often pickup a bargain on eBay from people that are upgrading.

TomTom One Classic is great budget sat nav for use in the UK and Ireland.

Garmin Nuvi 255WT packs a lot of functionality, including a wide-screen display and European maps.
